Cabinet

This looks horrible. I was at the art supply store forever looking through their gorgeous papers, batik prints, hand made recycled paper, all kinds of amazing textured stuff. I got nervous about picking the right one, so I ended up with plain blue card stock. Bo-ring!

I think I'm going to put everything in the cabinet in pretty boxes and binders and leave the glass uncovered.

Short Vacation

We took a quick trip to Redding this week, and got to walk over the amazing Sundial Bridge. We came back early because we got homesick quickly, missed our little house and gorgeous Sonoma county. I don't often forget how nice it is here, but going anywhere else reminds me.

Hall Gallery

This hall wall was completely empty, so last year we stocked up on frames, picked a few photos, and hung them up haphazardly. I've never been happy with the arrangement, but now I want to paint that wall and move some things around. It probably wouldn't hurt to update the photos, either.

This arrangement uses all the same pictures, with that one extra frame in the upper right corner there. Still not really into it.

The reel to reel print is usually around the corner, hung on the wall all by itself on a nail that was already there, just to get it up somewhere. Not ideal. I don't particularly love this arrangement, either, ignoring the three little frames off to the side. I think I might end up having to figure out something completely different.

Nature Table

We don't always have a nature table, but I thought we could set up some silks for a little summer scene on the mantel. I love looking at nature tables on blogs and flickr, there are some amazing displays, but I don't seem to keep up with ours.

I'm going to have to find a better place for one, a little brighter and lower. But for now, Mother Earth's shawl is wrapped around her like an apron, we found a sun hat for her, and borrowed our fairy play set's boat.

Countertop Restoration

I got a bid from Miracle Method to resurface the kitchen countertops. It's fairly reasonably priced compared to new material, and the photos look good, but we would still see the indentation of the grout lines. If we decide to go with this method, we would pick that textured charcoal gray color.
