Library Selection :: Living Simply With Children

A little pile of reading, listening, and eating material from the last couple days. Though I think that we live fairly close to some of the voluntary simplicity suggestions, it was nice to have a reminder in Living Simply with Children, by Marie Sherlock. We could use the help still with paring down our existing possessions. We add very little, but it would be nice to lose some more clutter and clean out the garage (arggh!). Reading this reaffirmed my desire to live simply with my children! ;)

Most of the book focuses on cutting down or eliminating television, video games, and computer use. Then, deciding on quality versus quantity on toys and objects for children. One concept I have had to learn is limiting 'things,' including clothes and books. Still working on that one. The author suggests that choosing to live simply is financially advantageous, grows stronger families, and is good for the earth.
